Hi! I'm Cindy, a digital artist and creator, and the face behind Lupus N Lepus. I've been an artist my whole life. When it was time to decide on a career path, I chose to pursue graphic design. I attended college for graphic design but I did not finish. I decided to drop out of college when the recession hit in 2009 and I had a full time job as a phlebotomist. Things were though at the time and I had to make a decision and my dream of doing art for work was being crushed. I decided continued to pursue being a phlebotomist from 2005-2022.

I get a lot of people asking if I have Lupus because my shop is called Lupus n Lepus. I do not have Lupus, Lupus means wolf. I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis however, which is a next door neighbor to Lupus. I do like to share with people I meet info bout RA. A lot of people have it confused with Osteo Arthritis (wear and tear). RA is an auto immune disease and can affect your organs, not just pain in your joints.

I was officially diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in February of 2017 which was long awaited news. I went 10 years undiagnosed and was going through a lot of depression, weight gain and chronic PAIN. Having a diagnosis was both a relief to know why this was happening to me as well as my life crumbling, knowing my health was going to be a lifelong issue. (spoonies unite)

In July 2023 I was laid off 2 weeks before I had my 4th knee surgery, and 3rd total knee replacement. It has been a long road to trying to recover from that as well as deciding what to do next! 

I took a leap of faith and transitioned during my post op recovery from a conventional job in healthcare to a full time artist. In 2023 I plan on doing pop up shop vendor gigs as well as increasing the items I offer on my website! I want to offer fun and useful items!
